DoSTOR July25, 2008--EMC released its second quarter results this week. Though in a tough economic, EMC posed revenues of $3.67 billion, an 18 percent hike on the same period last year.
It's the first time we hear "BRICs" in EMC's financial report. BRICs refer to the combination of Brazil, Russia, India, and China. Goldman Sachs believes that economies of the BRICs are rapidly developing and by 2050 will eclipse most of the current richest countries of the world.
For EMC, China is a BRIC indeed. Joe Tucci, EMC's Chairman, President and CEO said that the BRICs and other 13 countries' emerging markets is an important growth point of EMC's global business.
As one of the leading market, China's growth rate far exceeded the Asia-Pacific region and Japan's growth rate of 27%.
