DoSTOR July30,2008--In order to promote growth of HP's distributors and attract more professional partners in China, HP hold a distributor-competition from June 16, 2008 to October 31, 2008 facing to all the IT elite channel across China.
In this contest, all participators will be divided into two groups. Their qualification of attending the 5-phases contest is determined to their sales achievement to HP's designated customers and HP product certification training integral. According to the result of five different stages of the competition, distributors can select the corresponding "HP and channel growth funds."
Early this year, HP developed a new channel strategy according to which HP’s channel department will focus on channel management. HP’s entry-level server and storage products will rely on channels. Small and medium-sized customer market coverage and sales strategy will also be an important point.
HP will invest human and material resources on optimizing the management of distribution, auditing value-added partner, tie-2 distributor management, business process participation, and capturing industry market opportunities. As to the entry-level server and storage products, HP will recruit more distributors.

Cooperating with HP business-critical servers and entry-level storage products groups, distributors will gain a stronger ability to meet customer demand and get a platform to grasp market opportunities and customers. Through a simplified channel program and enhancing life-cycle management plans, HP will provide more support to partners".
In this competition, through a series of tough elimination game, together with its end users and professional partners, HP will filtering out the most professional enterprise servers and storage channel partners, and named "Provincial Champion ", "National First Three" and "New Award ". At the same time, HP will regulate cooperation with its original channel partners, admiting new server and storage channel partners to provide more mature and perfect server and storage services to clients.
The purpose of "HP Channel Elite Competition" is not only to recruit new channel partners, but also to implement better communication with channel partners and end-users, spreading HP’s consistent channel policy to partners and end users, implementing the important attention to channel building. HP hope that let clients know how to choose and evaluate channels, how to select products and solutions through these activities.
The contest will last more than four months. After the end of the competition, HP will support channel partners emerging in the contest and provide the best services and solutions to clients with them.
